In every generation one is obliterated to see oneself as one who personally went out from Egypt.
“The exodus from Egypt occurs in every human being, in every era, in every year and even on every day,” said the Hassidic rabbi Nachman of Bratslav.
How do you think and interpret it in your own life? When do you feel that you have personally went out of a slavery situation, a Situation were you felt shackle down? What did you do about it?
Maimonides offers a different insight- using the Hebrew, he changes one letter in the traditional formula. Instead of saying to see oneself as one who personally went out of Egypt, he says to show oneself as if he went out of Egypt.
How do you show that you are a free person ? What are the actions, the mitzvot, that you take to bring freedom to your life?
