Dear CST Community,

June has been, and continues to be, an exceptionally busy month here at CST and I couldn’t be more proud to be your President and excited for our future.

We Cruised Together!

What a joyous way to celebrate our 120th year with our Cruisin’ into the Next 120 Years gala on June 8th. The sounds of laughter and fun rang out from the casino to the piano lounge, photo booth to raffles, food to drinks, laughter and celebration filled the air. A huge thank you goes out to Mimi Berlin, Development Chair, for orchestrating such a grand event along with the Development Committee and the “Cruise Crew” Event Committee. Congratulations to all our raffle winners – enjoy all the goodies in your basket and if you’re willing to share a few photos, we’d love to see you out in the community!

Annual Membership & Business Meeting – Your Attendance is Requested

Monday, June 23rd (6pm on Zoom only, for security registration is required in advance) is your opportunity to participate in CST’s annual meeting. We’ll celebrate our successes and wins for this past year, vote on new officers joining the Board of Directors, provide an update on business, review and vote on proposed budget for FY25-26, and look ahead to our future. Please Note: You must be a member in good standing to vote. If you’d like to become a member or are unsure of your status, please contact Jemi in the office to inquire.

We need Your Voice to be Heard – Constitution Review Feedback Due June 30th

At our first Town Hall in May, we had nearly 30 people in attendance to participate in robust discussion and provide input. Our first round of soliciting feedback is open until June 30th, and a big thank you to those people who have shared additional perspective. Some of the proposed updates will meaningfully impact how our shul operates, so it’s important that your voice is heard. Please forward your input to VP Andrea Kreiner. You can view the current summary of changes here. Following this, we’ll come together in July/August for another open Town Hall, with a final vote on constitutional amendments to take place Sunday, September 7th.

Looking Beyond June:

  • Look for updates and more announcements about our next Constitution Town Hall – the date hasn’t been set yet, but we’ll need to come back together for a final review and updates with the information we’ve received. This will lead us into our final vote on September 7th.
  • As we head into late summer, Rabbi Oren, the Board and the Ritual Committee will start focusing on the chagim. After such positive feedback last year, we are delighted to announce that that Rabbi Meskin and her family will return this year to help lead us in HHD services.
  • The Mensch Learning Community will also be in full swing around the time of back-to-school. Please reach out to the office for more information on how to enroll your kids, grandkids, friends and other families in this immersive experience. Education Director Cara Abrams has some exciting news for HHD Family Services this year…stay tuned for more details as we get closer!
